The Faruq Z. Bey story spans from Coltrane's death and the Detroit riots of 1967, the Griot Galaxy of the 1980's, through his present work with his self-titled new band, his work with poet M.L. Liebler, and here with the Northwoods Improvisers. '19 Moons' is an awesome live acoustic performance that journeys from the first note through passages and motifs that haunt and inspire simultaneously. A master and a great supporting band.
